About

Who am I? Just an ordinary obsessed gardener

trying to make a few flowers and vegetables grow

in a weed, bug and blight filled world.

A bite of fresh ripe tomato,

or a fragrant peony coming into bloom,

even for a few days,

makes it all worthwhile.

  3. Great blog! We sound like kindred spirits. 🙂 Following and blogrolled!!

  4. I’m a new blogger too and struggling with the same questions you have. But I’m first a gardener and I LOVE your ‘About’ statement. How did the early settlers grow enough food to last a family through a winter? I’m constantly amazed that any of them survived as I try to tend an organic garden each year.

    • Thank you. Gardening certainly has it’s challenges, but, oh, the rewards! We’re all the kind of people that go “yup, it’s worth it,” though we’re not above grumbling along the way. Good luck with your garden and blog.

  5. Love the blog name and your pictures! Thanks for liking my latest post!

  6. Thanks for liking my post and comment, I had a lawn few years back that I was cray for but now I stay in apartments and trying to keep some greenery around. Glad to know about your interest in gardening!

  8. Thanks for your visit to my blog. There was a time when I had my own garden and oh! the delights it gave me! I miss that. Lovely garden photos you’ve got here!

    • Loved your story about being drafted into farming. You sound like a good, kind soul. Hopefully you’ll have a garden again, someday. Glad you enjoyed the pictures.
